  1. That poem is so good I want to cuss about it but will refrain for the sake of those that don’t get as passionate as I do when I read the words of human frailty.

  2. This is so inspiring and the way it is structured adds such poignancy. I like your rather vintage style of using words and formulating sentences. I’ve just started getting back into poetry again thanks to having a segment of it for a class, and I went back to my favorite poet, John Keats.

  3. Lovely poem, blog, and you! Just getting to check this out as I’m not very proficient in the blogging world, but I love your poem! Have you read Ondaatje! You’d probably like his poetry, ‘Handwriting’ is his latest I think. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

  4. Your poetry has a unique style and your writing is very raw and honest. I love it! I’m a bit late on stumbling upon this post but then again, every month is National Poetry Month for me 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing this great piece and looking forward to reading more of them! (P.s hmm, a poet that’s caught my eye recently would have to be Bo Burnham. Though he’s more well known as a comedian.)

  5. I really liked this, it had a lot of emotion and was very vivid I could see the tones of this as if watching it through a movie and the plot began to thicken around what we as the audience see as insignificant or reasons to small for this person to feel the way she does but it is just her nature of longing… but I could be crazy and you might be going for something else. 🙂

  7. It was real good and I like your style. You have a way of writing things without actually ever explaining them, and I am sure this keeps all of your readers intrigued.

  8. I was just stopping by when I saw this arresting and beautifully evocative piece. I felt so many emotions run through me as I read it. I will be sure to read more, and I hope you can find time to read my work.

p.s. I am envious of the number of comments you have! If I get one I count myself blessed 😉

  9. Hmm. Wow. It reveals so very very much and, yet, leaves so much to the imagination.

I really loved the way you delivered the imagery. It was seamless and so conversational.

Also, a trip thing about this poem, it doesn’t remind me someone in the sense that I was with someone that was like the person described in the piece. But, it does remind me of my former lover in the sense that, that is what she thought about me lol. She totally used to say things like that about me.

This piece is excellent. Thank you so much for sharing your artistry with us.

  10. Love that poem. Great set up for it too, I almost looked for the second column. I’ve always been a fan of Uncle Walt Whitman and Robert Frost. Have you read “Not Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening” by Jennifer Micheal Hecht. It is a great spin of Frost’s “Stopping by the Woods on Snowy Evening.”

  11. WOW! This poem was such a great journey! Really, it made me laugh and then feel very sorry for them (for being boring and all). Also, it is very visual and by the end I could even smell the half-peeled mandarin. Very refreshing and honest words.
I love poetry but I don’t usually read it (I’m trying to lately) and would love to know some of your favorite poems. And which poets would you consider as inspirations?

    • Those are fantastic. Lately the ones I’ve gotten have been a bit on the creepy/pervy side. I’d hate to repeat them and actually draw more creepy/pervy searches.I always remember Daniel Tosh’s titties when I’m having a bad daoy.ollFwing over from Write on Edge.

  14. I’ve been reading Adam O’Riordan recently. He caught my eye as he is from my city of Manchester. And there’s always my debut collection Heading North if you’re interested 🙂
